Caption: A favorite place for University of Wisconsin-Madison students to study, the Wisconsin Historical Society library reading room is pictured in a fisheye lens-view on April 12, 2010, following an extensive $2.1 million renovation. During the past year, the library space was restored to much of its 1900s-era grandeur -- including re-gilded ornate ceiling details and use of period-style light fixtures -- and updated to meet contemporary electrical and communications needs. The University of Wisconsin contributed $230,000 to help furnish the room once construction was finished.
